The KUNZ Tethering Equipment is an essential safety system for any aircraft lifting operation. It secures the aircraft against wind loads, changes in centre of gravity and unwanted movement throughout the entire lifting procedure – preventing secondary damage and protecting the recovery team and surrounding infrastructure.
The system includes Pulling Units, Steel Cables, Earth Anchors and Tension Meters with Digital Load Indicators, providing a complete tethering solution for any scenario. The digital load indicators enable the recovery team to monitor all restraint forces in real time, ensuring that prescribed limits are not exceeded at any point during the operation.
Configurations are available for 4, 6 or 8 tethering lines, scaling to aircraft size and prevailing wind conditions. The included slings can also be used as lifting slings during the recovery operation.
A recovery lift is only as safe as the measures in place to control the aircraft throughout it. Wind, shifting centre of gravity and uneven ground can all introduce uncontrolled movement during a lift – with potentially severe consequences for the aircraft and the recovery team.
The KUNZ Tethering Equipment is designed to eliminate these risks. By anchoring the aircraft at multiple points with precisely measured restraint forces, it ensures that every lift proceeds in a controlled, predictable and safe manner – regardless of weather conditions or site geometry.
The KUNZ Tethering system is available in three configurations – 4, 6 or 8 lines – allowing it to be scaled to the size of the aircraft, the number of lifting points and the prevailing environmental conditions.
