Key Tasks
The KUNZ Aircraft Recovery Trailer is available in two primary sizes – 40 tonnes and 90 tonnes capacity – for safely moving narrow-body and wide-body aircraft in NLG or MLG collapsed scenarios. A 170-tonne variant with Airbus A380 fuselage transition is also available for the world's largest commercial aircraft.
The specially designed transition equipment for the aircraft fuselage and wing replaces the collapsed landing gear, provides controlled support to the aircraft structure and minimises the risk of secondary damage during movement. Contour elements and skin pressure measuring compatibility provide maximum control of applied force during transport. Available sling and chain connections enable safe towing of the aircraft with the trailer installed.
For the most complex incidents, KUNZ also offers the Recovery Trailer System for 'all gears collapsed' scenarios. The wing transition is adjustable in angle to accommodate V-shaped wing configurations, and several heights can be achieved using included spacers.
A collapsed landing gear scenario is one of the most structurally sensitive recovery situations. The aircraft must be supported, moved and transported without causing further damage to the fuselage, wing structure or remaining serviceable landing gear components.
The KUNZ Aircraft Recovery Trailer is purpose-engineered for exactly this. Its specialised transition equipment interfaces directly with the aircraft fuselage or wing, distributing support loads across a defined area and allowing the recovery team to move the aircraft at a controlled speed to a safe location for further recovery work.

The adjustable wing transition angle accommodates V-shaped wing designs, the included spacers allow fine-tuning of the support height, and multiple fuselage transition sizes are available to match the specific aircraft type.
