ICAO-Certified Aircraft Recovery Management Course
The highest international standard in aircraft recovery management – developed in accordance with ICAO Doc 9137 Part 5 and delivered by KUNZ, the first organisation in the world to offer ICAO-certified aircraft recovery training.
The KUNZ ICAO-Certified Aircraft Recovery Management Course represents the pinnacle of aircraft recovery education. Developed in strict accordance with ICAO Doc 9137 Part 5, the programme delivers comprehensive theoretical training for current and future Aircraft Recovery Managers.
This course provides participants with the competencies required to effectively and safely plan, manage and document aircraft recovery operations in full compliance with ICAO standards and KUNZ Operation Manuals for Recovery Equipment. Topics covered include aircraft structures and systems, recovery strategy development, safety procedures, equipment selection and the coordination of multi-team recovery operations.
The programme is designed for a wide range of aviation professionals: recovery team members, aircraft maintenance and engineering staff, airline and airport management personnel and insurance loss adjusters involved in recovery operations.
Through realistic, scenario-based exercises, participants learn to respond efficiently to complex incidents, minimise risks and ensure a coordinated, compliant recovery process from start to finish. All attendees receive an official ICAO-recognised certificate upon successful completion.

Requirements and recommendations
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Completion of secondary education
- 3 years of working experience within field of airline or airfield operation, though not essential
- The required minimum size of a class is 6 people
- Training can take place throughout the year
